Passport Photo Size Converter
Convert any photo size between millimetres, centimetres, inches and pixels. Pixels depend on the DPI you print at, which is why the same photo can be 600 px or 1200 px and both be correct.
How the conversion works
One inch is exactly 25.4 millimetres, and one centimetre is 10 millimetres, so the length conversions are fixed. Pixels are different: a pixel has no physical size until you decide how densely to print it. To go from millimetres to pixels, divide by 25.4 to get inches, then multiply by the DPI. For 35 mm at 300 DPI that is 35 ÷ 25.4 × 300 = 413 pixels.
This is why an online form asking for 600 by 600 pixels is really asking for a 2 by 2 inch photo at 300 DPI. If you supply 600 by 600 pixels but print it at 600 DPI, it comes out at 1 inch and gets rejected.

Knowing the number is only half the job.
